Our large population-based study with data from the United States has demonstrated that hyperthyroidism during pregnancy is associated with hypertensive disorders, preterm delivery, small for gestational age neonates, and intrauterine fetal death. Further large studies are needed to evaluate the best treatment methods and the effect of controlled disease on pregnancy outcomes.
