Imaging remains an indispensable tool for the diagnosis and management planning of nephrolithiasis, but recent efforts have focused on reducing financial cost and radiation exposure for patients with this often-chronic condition. New technologies such as low and ultra-low-dose CT along with better screening with POCUS will allow us to make the diagnosis of nephrolithiasis quickly and safely, whereas computer algorithms will help urologists offer better informed treatment options.
