Our data indicate that a combination of breast and ovarian operations significantly increases the risk for postoperative breast-related surgical complications compared to separately performed procedures and also the duration of hospital stay in patients with tissue expander–based reconstructions. This study provides valuable information for preoperative counseling of patients with familial breast and ovarian cancer.
