Looking Forward

Much like overcoming the coronavirus pandemic has required a multipronged approach, efforts to curb gun violence are needed across all levels of nursing care. From the bedside nurse to the clinic nurse, the school nurse to the nursing faculty member, the nurse researcher to the nurse practitioner, and everywhere in between, nurses must be compelled to advocate for gun violence prevention. By making gun control and violence prevention a practice priority, nurses can tackle this chronic disease burden affecting our pediatric patients and families and vastly improve the lives of American youth.
