Are You Afraid of Getting COVID-19 Now?

July 27, 2021

In a recent press briefing, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, MD, called the COVID-19 Delta variant "one of the most infectious respiratory viruses we know of" and reported rising cases and hospitalizations in the United States.

"Whether you are vaccinated or not, please know we together are not out of the woods yet," she said. "We are yet at another pivotal moment in this pandemic, with cases rising again and hospitals reaching their capacity in some areas."

On July 27, the CDC updated its guidance for vaccinated people to advise wearing masks indoors in areas where COVID-19 transmission rates are high.
