A person who needs to use compression hosiery should be assessed for peripheral arterial disease according to the NICE guideline. Others who should be assessed for the presence of peripheral arterial disease are those with symptoms suggestive of the disease, those with diabetes, unexplained leg pain, or non-healing wounds on the feet or legs, and those being considered for interventions to the foot or leg.
