The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) states the prevalence of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) is falling. However, these often asymptomatic balloon-like expansions are at risk of rupture, potentially leading to catastrophic consequences.
The NICE guideline “Abdominal aortic aneurysm: diagnosis and management” aims to improve care by helping people who are at risk to get tested. It also covers how often to monitor asymptomatic aneurysms.
