Two settings where mental health needs have been identified as an ongoing concern are pediatric emergency departments (Rogers et al., 2017) and weight management programs (Zenlea et al., 2015). Mental health problems in a weight management program complicate the client's ability to follow the plan, and staff in such settings may not be prepared to address these issues. Rogers and colleagues (2019) stated that in the emergency department, they were being asked to make decisions quickly and without complete information. In cases that possibly focused on a mental health problem, or those in which the mental health of the child or parents/guardians is a concern. Other clinical areas with similar problems also need to be addressed.
