An external fixation technique using a simple syringe barrel and Kirschner wires provides a simple and effective method for management of unstable metacarpal and phalangeal fractures with good radiographic and functional outcomes. It can maintain reduction, minimize operative soft-tissue damage, and provide adequate fixation allowing for early postoperative mobilization. This is made of very low cost items that are available at operative theaters.
