It is important that patients with a late diagnosis of CF are given clear and honest information about the condition. Individuals will often struggle to retain all the information and the process of education should be ingrained within CF care and supported by access to appropriate literatures. When discussing prognosis, the difference between genotype, phenotype, and disease severity should be explained as should the future drug pipeline.
