Future Directions and Conclusion

As we look ahead to the next 50 years, there may be significant changes in the treatment of UTI. Immunotherapy and vaccinations are showing promise in early studies. The urinary microbiome is being studied, and the idea that urine was sterile is no longer the pervasive attitude. However, when looking back in the last 50 years, the treatment of bacteria related to UTI has not significantly changed.
