Conclusions

The incremental adoption of disruptive technologies into the diagnosis of lymphoid neoplasms has facilitated our understanding their biology and pathogenesis. Appropriate use of these tools is essential in establishing the diagnosis of lymphomas and also to inform prognosis and directed therapeutic approaches. Examples of the use of molecular testing in lymphomas are listed in Table 7. Certain mutations, initially described in the setting of specific neoplasms, have subsequently been detected in a spectrum of other hematopoietic neoplasms, highlighting the need to always interpret the results of molecular testing in the context of other pathologic data.
