Conclusions
The present study has shown that only 8 h of actual exercise over 8 wk resulted in a significant increase in total lean mass, a decrease in total fat mass, and an increase in aerobic fitness of overweight postmenopausal women. These results suggest that a brief interval sprinting program may be efficacious for reversing negative body composition and aerobic fitness decrease in postmenopausal women.
