The NICE guideline advises that episodes of sensory disturbance or tingling in the limbs do not need to be routinely referred if symptoms are present on waking and last less than 10 minutes. They say the cause of these symptoms is likely to be compression related to sleep posture, which resolves rapidly without the need for treatment.
