Objectives
This article reviews technical aspects of point-of-care (POC) tests for antiplatelet agents and contrasts them with traditional platelet aggregometry, assesses their role in determining escalation of antiplatelet therapy, and evaluates their role, if any, in determining how many units of platelets are needed to reverse P2Y12 inhibitors in bleeding emergencies and prior to urgent invasive procedures.
