In the new updated guideline: Hypertension in adults: diagnosis and management, from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the level of a person’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease within the next 10 years, at which treatment for high blood pressure can be started, has been reduced to 10% or greater for those aged under 80 with stage 1 hypertension.
This is just one of the changes in the draft updated guideline. Test your knowledge of the diagnosis and management of hypertension in our UK guidelines quiz.
