This study was successful as it was able to identify ICG angiography as powerful methods for detecting and protecting the parathyroid. The relevance of ICG angiography and parathyroid detection is clearly supported by the current findings. The findings of this investigation complement those of earlier studies. The methods used for this study may be applied to other studies elsewhere in the world. The generalisability of these results is subject to certain limitations. For instance, the sample size is small. Notwithstanding these limitations, the study suggests that ICG fluorescence imaging system in protecting the parathyroid intraoperation and predicting the postoperative parathyroid function. Large randomised controlled trials could provide more definitive evidence. Further studies, which take these findings into account, will need to be undertaken. The findings of this study have a number of important implications for future practice.
