Summary

Failure of shoulder arthroplasty for fracture has a wide range of etiologies, and management should be tailored to the cause of failure. Revision surgery is technically difficult with outcomes that are predictably worse than primary arthroplasty. Patient expectations should be appropriately treated, and preoperative education is critical to patient satisfaction.
