Nonopioid Pharmacologic Agents

The majority of the available medications used to treat neuropathic pain are not primary analgesics but do have analgesic efficacy under certain conditions. Such medications are classified as adjuvant analgesics. They include antidepressants, local anesthetics, antiseizure drugs (Anti-epileptic drugs [AEDs]), and adrenergic agonists.
