Although lung function tests are common for monitoring a patient’s asthma, specialist advice received by NICE judged lung function tests to be less relevant after bronchial thermoplasty and instead the success of the procedure should be assessed through symptom reduction, quality of life, and fewer emergency hospital admissions.
