The purpose of this meta-analysis was to review and synthesize research on the accuracy of thermometer devices commonly used in hospitals and clinics, to make recommendations for use in clinical practice. In this meta-analysis, we combined statistical results from several studies to determine which non-core routes and devices provided the most accurate body temperature when compared to core body temperature. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines (Moher et al., 2015) were followed in this report.
