Clinical Implications and Conclusions

This national survey provides much needed baseline data for the HPC APRN workforce. Although these specialty APRNs face challenges similar to the larger APRN population, they have unique educational and regulatory challenges. With the shortage of qualified HPC providers, these challenges need to be addressed to enhance access to high-quality HPC. These results inform future professional, educational, and regulatory efforts to foster the development of specialty HPC APRN practice and ultimately enhance HPC APRNs' essential role in changing health care delivery.
