President Trump said he is planning to nominate Alex M. Azar II, a pharmaceutical executive, to be the next Secretary of the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). He would replace Tom Price, who resigned in September when it became public knowledge that he used private, expensive charter jets and government planes instead of flying commercial on department business.

If Azar is confirmed, he will be the 12th person to serve as Secretary of HHS (not counting three Acting Secretaries) since the office was established.
