
3D printing. This has now been used to print prosthetic limbs for individuals and models for facilitation of complex surgeries but also was recently used in the separation of conjoined twins at Texas Children's Hospital. Many other applications are envisioned, and the field is moving much faster than had been anticipated.
I'm sure I have left out some advances that you consider worthy or have included ones you may not agree with. But I hope you find this list useful; and if the feedback is positive, I'll try to put a similar list together at the end of each year.
