A search of the English-language literature was performed for the years 1975–April 2015 using PubMed and Scopus with the following search terms: VKA (warfarin, acenocoumarol, phenprocoumon, fluindione) dose AND body weight, obesity, body mass index, body surface area. Because of the limited number of investigations, all of the studies were included, and when a salient reference was found, the publications cited were assessed. No studies related to VKA and body weight were discarded in our review of the literature (Fig.).
