The Dermatological Manifestations of Postural Tachycardia Syndrome: A Review With Illustrated Cases

Literature Search Methods

A literature search of PubMed for articles published from 1 January 1970 to 30 December 2014 was performed using the following terms: POTS, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, postural tachycardia syndrome, orthostatic, intolerance, autonomic, cutaneous, dermatologic, dermatological, skin, hypovolemia, chronic fatigue, deconditioning, hyperadrenergic, urticaria, cholinergic, flushing, evanescent hyperemia, livedo reticularis, Raynaud's, Raynaud, mechanism, and pathophysiology. Studies were limited to those published in English. Other articles were identified from bibliographies of the retrieved articles.
