Reader Poll: What Should Happen to Dr Oz?

April 29, 2015

Ten physicians recently sent a letter to Columbia University urging them to fire faculty member and celebrity physician Mehmet Oz, MD, because he promotes “quack treatments” that are not evidence based and supports labeling genetically modified foods.

Four of the physicians physicians calling for his termination are past or present officials of the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH), a nonprofit organization that has been called a front group for the industries behind genetically modified foods, e-cigarettes, and fracking.

Dr Oz pointed out the group’s members' conflicts of interest in a recent episode of his show, in which he claimed his right to free speech.
