Reader Poll: Alcohol Consumption in Your Patients

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released new data showing that alcohol poisoning kills six Americans each day on average; most are middle-aged, non-Hispanic white men. Also, 30% of alcohol poisoning deaths can be attributed to alcoholism.

CDC Principal Deputy Director Ileana Arias, PhD, said that effective programs and policies need to be established to prevent alcohol-related deaths and binge drinking, which 38 million US adults admit to doing around four times a month.
