Japan is the country with the highest life expectancy* (84 years), as per the most recent report published by the WHO in 2014.[17] Sierra Leone is last, with an average of 46 years. In Singapore, it is 83 years, and in Denmark 80 years. In the United States, life expectancy rose from 75 to 79 years between 1990 and 2012.[18]
