According to the World Health Organization (WHO),[11] the Russian Federation reports having more female than male doctors, as do some of the other former Soviet republics.

In 2014, 44% of French physicians were women.[12] The Canadian Medical Association reported that 36.4% of the 72,368 active physicians in 2012 were women,[13] whereas the Association of American Medical Colleges reported that in 2010, women accounted for 30.4% of US active physicians and 46% of residents/fellows.[14]
