Manipulation

Closed manipulation may provide limited benefit in mild cases of posttraumatic elbow stiffness, but may also result in heterotopic ossification formation and complications such as periarticular fracture. Araghi et al.[13] reported the use of closed manipulation combined with postmanipulation static progressive splinting in 51 patients, resulting in an average change in the elbow flexion-extension arc from 401 to 781.
