Timothy Daskivich, MD: Hi. I'm Dr. Timothy Daskivich, a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar in the Department of Urology at the University of California, Los Angeles. I am joined today by Dr. Matthew Resnick, Instructor of Urologic Surgery at Vanderbilt University. We are going to be discussing lessons learned from the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Study (PCOS). Hi, Matt.
Matthew J. Resnick, MD: Hi, Tim. How are you? Thanks for having me.
Dr. Daskivich: Thanks so much for joining me today. First, what is PCOS? You and I have both done work with it.
Dr. Resnick: PCOS is a longitudinal cohort study.[1,2,3,4,5] It enrolled a little over 3500 men from 6 different SEER registries from 1994 to 1995. These men were followed from diagnosis through about 15 years, with both disease-control outcomes as well as patient-reported functional outcomes.
