Androgen Replacement Therapy in Women

Currently available evidence suggests that women with significant depletion of androgens due to ovarian and/or adrenal insufficiency and clinical symptoms of impaired well-being or libido are the most suitable candidates for androgen replacement.[1] Available options include transdermal testosterone administration or oral administration of the androgen precursor DHEA.
