General Conclusions

The present study confirms the beneficial role of DHEA-S on health. Concretely, an oral dose of 100 mg/day of DHEA-S helps weight loss and improves other obesity indicators both in pre- and postmenopausal women. However, in postmenopausal women, DHEA-S significantly modified several metabolic syndrome parameters such as abdominal obesity, insulin resistance and blood pressure, leading to a better metabolic profile, which highlights the usefulness of this therapy against MetS and other related pathologies, at least in this group.
