Conclusion

Despite proven benefits, CPAP adherence remains problematic. Educating patients about the need to treat OSA and on the merits of CPAP can aid in acceptance of therapy. Quickly identifying and resolving common barriers to CPAP use can prevent discontinuation of therapy, promote better adherence to treatment, and ensure that treatment response and outcomes are optimized.
