Introduction

Accurately diagnosing the cause of a biliary stricture has depended on the use of various imaging, endoscopic, and sampling modalities that, even in combination, do not provide adequate sensitivity. Probe-based laser endomicroscopy that has the potential to increase diagnostic accuracy of tissue sampling methods has been recently introduced. In this case report, probe-based laser endomicroscopy proved crucial in establishing the diagnosis of suspected biliary cancer.
