In 2011, the 2 drugs boceprevir and telaprevir ushered in a new era of therapy for hepatitis C infection, and with recent studies reporting the risk for Barrett esophagus progressing to esophageal cancer to be lower than previously thought, it might be time to rethink the surveillance guidelines for this condition.
