Introduction
Women doctors spend more time with their patients, on average, than their male counterparts, according to Medscape's 2011 Physician Compensation Report.

While the largest percentage of doctors (24% of men and 22% of women) spend between 13 and 16 minutes with a patient, women are more likely to spend more than 16 minutes with a patient (50%) than their male counterparts (42%), according to the survey of nearly 16,000 US physicians across 22 specialty areas.
Do those extra few minutes make a difference for the patient? It depends upon who you ask.
