Combination Hormonal Contraceptives

The combined contraceptives containing both progestin and estrogen include a diverse range of methods. In this section, we review oral contraceptive pills, contraceptive patches, vaginal rings and the combination once-a-month injectables. Because COCs are the most widely used of the combined group and have been available for the longest time, the research evidence on real and perceived weight gain is widely available for this method.
