Uveitis or iritis is an inflammation of the iris, the ciliary body, or the choroid. Iritis may result in pain that radiates to the brow and temple; it develops with time along with redness in the eye. Other symptoms of iritis include watering, red eye, blurred vision, and photophobia. Iritis should be referred for further investigation. Patients are commonly treated with steroid eye drops to alleviate the pain and inflammation.
