Nail abnormalities can include defects of the nail itself, as well as more subtle findings that may point to a systemic medical disease. It is important to remember that common habits and nail products may also result in nail abnormalities. While definitive treatment for many nail disorders can be difficult, most simply require observation and reassurance.
