Scleroderma and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease

As previously stated fibrosis of the gland can lead to hypothyroidism, and in this group only 50% of patients had positive tests for antithyroid antibodies.[29] In mixed connective tissue disease there are very little data. Antithyroid antibodies were found in a quarter of the patients and overt hypothyroidism in less than 20%.[30]
