Cost

The average wholesale cost of 60 150- or 300-mg tablets is $1044.[44] Therefore, cost could be $1044 monthly for a dosage of 150 mg twice daily, $2088 monthly for 300 mg twice daily, or $4176 monthly for 600 mg twice daily. This cost would be in addition to the cost of other antiretroviral agents in the patient's regimen. Before initiating maraviroc, a tropism assay is recommended to verify the patient has CCR5-tropic virus. The Trofile assay list price is approximately $2000.[45] The cost of the tropism assay is covered by most third-party insurance carriers, as well as Medicare and Medicaid and, in some states, the AIDS Drug Assistance Programs.
