Murray reported a man who developed a second-degree burn under his nitroglycerin TTS while he was sitting near a microwave in use. The TTS contained aluminized plastic to prevent volatile nitroglycerin from escaping. The aluminum portion of the TTS was heated by microwaves that apparently escaped the oven.[15]
