The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) has recently approved several new drugs which may be useful in the treatment of pediatric patients. In addition, a number of important safety alerts have been issued that affect medications used in children.[1] This issue of Pediatric Pharmacotherapy will review these changes and their potential impact on the care of infants and children in the United States.
