Conclusion

Our current patient is the fourth reported case of silent anterior panhypopituitarism precipitated by a coronary artery bypass grafting procedure. This type of operation should be listed as a possible cause of silent pituitary infarction. There should be increased awareness of this entity and its insidious presentation, in an effort to diagnose it early and hence initiate therapy to minimize morbidity from this condition.
