23-year-old female with pain in the right knee following injury during a skiing accident.
What is the associated abnormality?
Anterior cruciate ligament tear
Posterior cruciate ligament tear
Lateral patellar subluxation
Medial meniscus injury
Iliotibial band syndrome
Plain films of the right knee are normal. T2-weighted sagittal and coronal images of the right knee demonstrates bone contusions involving the anterior aspect of the lateral femoral condyle and posterior aspect of the lateral tibial plateau. This pattern of injury is highly suggestive of a concomitant anterior cruciate ligament tear (not shown).
