Conclusion

The research model, caring-healing inquiry for holistic nursing practice, emphasizes inquiry as the basis for excellence in practice. The model considers the holistic nature of people and the complexity of the human condition. In applying this model, nurses are better able to integrate caring theory with research and EBP. In doing so, nurses interpret evidence and the quality of that evidence from a caring perspective when making decisions about practice or practice changes, thus making explicit nursing's contribution to healthcare. Continued evaluation and validation of the model remains ongoing.
