In general, patients were satisfied with their pharmacy benefits. However, they had a negative attitude toward formularies. Patients did not have adequate knowledge regarding formularies and the role formularies played in drug benefit management. Educational intervention by health plan providers may help improve attitudes, leading to more satisfied patients.
