This pooled analysis confirms that oral oseltamivir is effective in alleviating influenza symptoms, and that the benefits extend to faster relief of some of the more uncomfortable individual symptoms of influenza, which are reflected in faster returns to normal activity and sleep. Oseltamivir was effective regardless of influenza type, although the magnitude of effect was smaller among patients with influenza B. Oseltamivir is well tolerated and produces clinically significant benefits in patients with confirmed influenza.
